These poems and poets are commonly taught in high school as part of the ELA Common Core. Sometimes when you’re forced to read great literature, you don’t think it’s that great. Perhaps you can’t understand it? Perhaps the poem’s about something you don’t care about? Perhaps you’re too busy with other activities? Maybe your teacher sucks?
I suppose there’s a chance you enjoy the poem you’re reading so much that you want to learn more. That would be nice.
